Unrar files into current folder

For example let's take birthday party.rar archive. Right-click on it to open context menu and select Extract here option in the menu to unrar files from the archive.

Wait a few moments while B1 Free Archiver is extracting files from rar archive...

...and it's done. All photos are extracted from rar file to the same folder, you can view them as usually.

Unrar files into new folder

Sometimes it's more convenient to unrar files into separate folder, especially when there are a lot of files in the archive. That way it's easier to find and view them later and avoid a mess in the original folder. It's still one click, instead of Extract here select Extract to... from the same menu.

The simplest way is to choose default folder which has the same name as the RAR archive. In our example - birthday party. With this option all photos are extracted from rar into new separate folder with name birthday party next to...

Rar file archives are now widely used to send across multiple documents in a single file. Though, zip archives also do the same thing. RAR archives can save more space by higher compression levels, ability to split big files into multiple ones and so on. Android OS by default, doesn’t support extraction of RAR files, and hence we need to use other app. Here’s an easy tutorial on How to extract Rar files on Android.

Tutorial to Open Rar archives on Android | Unrar Rar files on Android Phones & Tablets –

We need to install RAR app developed by RARlab – the official owners of Rar compression algorithm. We can use other apps but since the app is official, plus is free, we will go with the official one.
Click here to Download RAR app from Google Play Store After the app is installed, launch the app. Then it may ask you a one time permission to access files depending on your Android version. Tap on “Allow” as shown in the below image – Now, navigate to the downloaded /...

ow do I open rar archive files under a Linux or UNIX or macOS X operating system?

RAR files are in compressed archive format, if you have downloaded rar files from the Internet, you need to unpack or unrar them (extract rar files). RAR is a proprietary file format for data compression and archiving, developed by Eugene Roshal. The command used to extract these files is called “unrar”. By default, unrar is not being installed on Linux, FreeBSD or UNIX like operating system. You can install unrar command with the help of apt-get or yum command. (See below for

Windows XP / 7

unrar infomation.)

One of the most important things that should be included in a smartphone or tablet is the ability to extract and compress archived files with ease. Unfortunately, this feature has to be acquired through apps so you have to find a reliable file archiver that could support today’s most commonly used archive file formats. If you’re currently in search for one, you could check out this app called Easy Unrar, Unzip and Zip”and try to find out if it’s reliable enough.

What Is It and What Does It Do

Main Functionality

Easy Unrar, Unzip and Zip is a free file archiver app for Android. It is developed by RbigSoft and its main function is to let you extract or compress your files and folders. This data compression utility tool supports all RAR and ZIP archive versions and it also features its own browser. Therefore, you can directly use the app to browse for the files that you want to compress or extract.

In one of my latest projects, I was fiddling around with existing decompression classes, for Zip. I noticed though, that RAR had a far better compression ratio for certain files, and that the existing DLL handled everything itself, including the latest version of the RAR format.

How does the class use 'unrar.dll'?

Unrar.dll is freely distributable, and officially released by RarLabs. It is the interface which existing applications use to manipulate RAR archives. In the class, five functions are exported from the DLL and used.

HANDLE (WINAPI *OpenArchiveEx)(RAROpenArchiveDataEx *pArchiveData); int (WINAPI *CloseArchive)(HANDLE hArcData); int (WINAPI *ReadRARHeader)(HANDLE hArcData, RARHeaderData *pHeaderData); int (WINAPI *ProcessRARFile)(HANDLE hArcData, int iOperation, char* strDestFolder, char* strDestName); int (WINAPI *ReadRARHeaderEx)(HANDLE hArcData, struct RARHeaderDataEx...

Rapidshare is one of the most used file sharing servers in the web. But Rapidshare is not that liberal to set every service free. For people who don’t like to pay to download a file, it doesn’t let him download more than 200MB at a time. What if you have a file size larger than that? Well its simple. You upload it by parts with rar segmentations. So, if you are an avid lover of downloading free movies and software from your computer, the most frustrating point is to realize that file was corrupt or suppose the movie didn’t have the same picture quality what you had expected. But you are helpless by then. You have downloaded all the parts and wasted the time, bandwidth and the energy too. Is there any easy way to avoid this so that you can download a single file and have a sleek preview of what the file looks like? Generally no. But I have a solution for Ubuntu users. Lemme bring it on.

Here’s your clue to get rid of the crisis

Ever had a zip file turn into a cpgz file? This is an infrequent problem, but here’s what happens; When the .zip file is attempted to be unzipped, it extracts into a .cpgz file, which then can also be launched in Archive Utility, only to then turn back into a .zip file, which then turns into a .zip.cpgz file, and basically the archive gets stuck in an infinite loop as it’s being decompressed into one variation of the other, over and over again. Annoying, right?

Why this happens isn’t always completely clear, but it can be indicative of a few things:

Corrupted file, either during download or from origin Incomplete download, stopped at 99% done or similar Certain web browsers mishandling a file during or after the download process A bug

Accordingly, dealing with the zip cpgz loop is usually best handled in a few different ways. Before beginning, you may want to check the md5 hash or SHA1 of the origin file if possible, that can easily tell you if the file was...

There are many ways in which you can unrar rar files. In a similar method of yesterdays post on how to play mkv files, today’s post is going to mention some of the different ways to unrar rar archives. Since there are many ways to skin a cat there are also many ways to unrar these archives. Pretty much every app mentioned here does the same thing and there isn’t much difference between them. The only difference is between the command line program and the GUI app’s. Since the built in Archive Utility doesn’t have a support for rar files its worth having an app that can support these files when the time comes.

The app that I use regularly is UnRarX. From the many apps that I have tried it seems to be the best. Like most of these apps it is a no nonsense app that gets the job done. Unlike most other apps it has a small window which tells you what it is doing rather than a simple progress bar. This way when you get a corrupt archive or a file that won’t...

Are you used to opening RAR files on your computer, but you can’t figure it out on an Android? Do you even know what

Do you even know what an RAR file is?

RAR files are compressed archive files which have become quite popular over the years. RAR files (.rar extension) are widely used on PCs running the Windows but are becoming more common on smartphones. The RAR format allows you to reduce the size of several different files and consolidate the data into a single file.

Most of us treat our Android devices like PCs because the Android platform can do almost everything that a PC can do. However, Android devices do not have a default way of opening these RAR files.

But you might want to watch a movie or listen to music packaged in a RAR file. Luckily, third party applications and solutions are what make Android such an incredible mobile platform. There are many apps out there that open RAR files in a few seconds. However, not all decompression apps...

RAR (and UNRAR) is the Linux port of the commandline-only version of WinRAR available in both the i686 and x86-64 flavors.

Key features

Variable amounts of redundancy ("recovery record" or "recovery volumes" both of which are demonstrated below) can be added to an archive, making it more resistant to corruption. Even if parts of an archive are damaged, it is possible to fully recover the stored data if a large enough recovery record exists. On its own, Tar does not have this ability. RAR is able to efficiently handle split volumes. Built-in support for multi-volume files enables the unpacking program to simply prompt the user for the next .partXXX RAR file, without the need to manually copy and then rejoin the pieces, or for extracting a file from a single piece without needing all pieces. RAR does not support tapes, as it uses seek and rename operations on its files. RAR archives can be of a solid format, in which all of the compressed files are treated as a single...

Wondering what is in that zip file or archive you downloaded, but you don’t want to extract it to find out? Maybe you are hunting around in a see of archives for a specific file you zipped up a while ago, but you’re not quite sure which archive contains it? You can easily peer into zips and other archive formats to view their contents without actually unzipping or uncompressing them, which is an excellent way to check if a particular archive has a file or folder you are looking for, and to make sure you downloaded the proper file.

There are a few easy ways to view zip contents on a Mac and we’ll cover three of them, two of which are zip-centric command line based and built into all versions of OS X (and many other unix and linux variations for that matter), and another approach which uses a free third party utility and Quick Look to be able to quickly glance at any archives contents.
